Sanitation Department

The Sanitation Department at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, healthy, and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. With a dedicated team of four staff members, the department is responsible for ensuring that classrooms, offices, dormitories, washrooms, and common areas are kept spotless and hygienic. Their daily routines—focused on cleanliness and sanitation—help prevent the spread of illnesses and create a positive atmosphere that supports effective learning and personal well-being.

Operating under a structured schedule, the department carries out sweeping, mopping, dusting, waste collection, and the disinfection of high-touch surfaces across the campus. During weekends and school holidays, the team intensifies its work through deep cleaning and fumigation exercises to ensure the entire school environment remains safe and refreshed. They also manage waste disposal responsibly, encouraging practices such as sorting garbage and promoting basic recycling initiatives to support environmental sustainability.

In addition to their cleaning duties, the sanitation staff are involved in health promotion by sensitizing students on proper hygiene practices, especially handwashing and general cleanliness. Working closely with the school’s health office, the team contributes to instilling a culture of hygiene awareness among learners. The commitment and reliability of the four-member Sanitation Department continue to make a significant impact on the daily operations and overall well-being of the St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School community.
